Blogging is worth the risk!

Greetings to fellow classmates,

I believed students should have the freedom to blog about school related materials in my classroom. Our world is filled with innovative technologies and gadgets. We should expand on communication through the use of the online world by blogging. Most people communicate through email, Facebook, Yahoo messenger, AIM, MSN messenger, etc. How should blogging be different? One of the major differences of a blog page to that of a personal or professional website is that blog pages only display posts and comments. Professional or personal websites contain more features than blog sites, making it easier to access to a lot more information.

There are many risks in giving out information through the internet, but if students and educators are careful and are aware of what they are writing then it should be safe to do so. Students learn through share ideas and opinions. They become open-minded and unique individuals by expanding their knowledge with the world. Our ideas are only limited to what we can share. We should not allow risks to be a barrier to what we can do.

  1. Hi Nhu,
I completely agree with your post. Blogging should not be looked at any differently than other personal or professional websites. Blogging is a way for people to express their individuality. Although it can be risky to give out information on the internet, it is worth it if individuals are conscious of what they write. You brought up a valid point when you stated that blogging allows people to "become open-minded and unique individuals by expanding their knowledge with the world." This is so true because blogging allows a person to communicate with people from all over the world that they normally would not meet. It's amazing what technology can do for us! I also really like your ending quote when you said, "We should not allow risks to be a barrier to what we can do." This is a really strong point because it's saying that we should not let fear stand in the way of possibilities. Technology has the power to open a whole new world of learning. Great job!
